🏛ī¸DAO Governance

$MAZU holders will be able to use their tokens to participate in protocol governance through the Mazu DAO

The Mazu DAO will play a vital role in governing the direction and strategies of Mazu Finance. DAO members will be responsible for proposing yield opportunities and voting on various yield generating strategies such as liquid staking, LP provisioning and various borrow/lending strategies. Mazu DAO will implement a democratic structure where each member's vote weight will be determined by the number of $MAZU tokens they hold. This approach empowers the Mazu community by enabling token holders to have a direct say in how the treasury funds are allocated.

Core Responsibilities

Members of Mazu DAO will collectively be responsible for deciding on the following matters:

1) Identify and whitelist potential yield opportunities and protocol partnerships 2) Vote on the percentage allocation of treasury funds for yield strategies 3) Vote on protocol parameters such as the percentage of $MAZU used for weekly buybacks 4) Vote on key protocol design changes

However, it should be noted that the DAO's responsibilities are not solely restricted to these points. We believe that as Mazu Finance matures, Mazu DAO will slowly assume responsibility over other aspects of the project.

Governance Process

To ensure an effective and democratic governance process we propose the following governance framework:

1) Proposal Creation and Discussion

To initiate the governance process, token holders can propose an Mazu Improvement Proposal (MIP) to the DAO. This proposal should be submitted on the Mazu Finance Discord DAO Channel and must clearly outline the specific changes that the token holders wish to see implemented in the protocol.

2) Minimum Voting

Following one week of discussion, if the proposal garners sufficient support, it will be presented for a temperature check. During this process, users will have the opportunity to vote either "Pass" or "Not Pass" on the proposal. If the majority of users vote " Pass, " the proposal will proceed to the next phase.

3) "Snapshot" Voting

The final step in the governance process. The proposal should incorporate feedback from the Proposal Discussion and be submitted for on-chain voting where $MAZU holders can vote.
